ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Jennifer. Glad you're here. :-)
I am a certified personal trainer, nutritionist, and health coach. I also have a specialization in strength and conditioning. I earned all of my certifications through the ISSA (International Sports Science Association).
A little bit more about my background:
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
I am a practicing and board-certified pediatrician, too.
I have always had an underlying interest in nutrition and fitness, but, unfortunately, the subjects of nutrition and physical fitness are not extensively taught to medical students, so I did a lot of reading on my own.
When I was a pediatric resident, I helped develop a program called "Lock-In To Healthy Living" with a few other residents where we went to area schools and talked to the kids in their after-school program about eating well and being active. I even earned a CATCH grant for this program through the American Academy of Pediatrics.
When I started medical practice, I developed a "Healthy Living" program for my previous pediatric practice where parents and children who were noted by providers to be having trouble with weight or nutrition would meet with me and a few other families to learn the basics behind eating well and being active as a family.
As a physician, I discuss healthy eating and exercise with kids and their parents at their yearly visits and I wanted to take my interest in fitness a step further.
I also actively participate in weight lifting and flexible dieting myself.
I want to help others like you find and optimize their own wellness routines, reach their fitness goals, and thrive!
If this resonates with you, contact me, and we'll get started!
